Mrs. Bendle's Class at Hooverson Heights had an ice skating party in their classroom on Friday! The students made their skates then took them for a spin on the ice. Thank you Mrs. Bendle, Ms. TJ, Ms. Savana, Ms. Pizzoferrato, Ms. Mozingo, and Mrs. King for such a fun event!

PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION – 2026-2027
Brooke County Schools will hold registration for the 2026-2027 school year as follows:
• PreK: all Brooke County children who will be 4 years old June 30, 2026, are eligible to enroll in the Brooke County PreK program for the 2026-2027 school year. To register for PreK, each Brooke County School location will offer packet pick-ups beginning on February 1, 2026. Completed packets should be submitted to the Brooke County Board of Education Office, 2nd Floor on the following dates and times:
o Tuesday, February10th, 9-11 AM
o Thursday, February 12th, 1-3 PM
o Tuesday, February 24th, 9-11 AM
o Thursday, February 26th, 1-3 PM
o Monday, April 20th 9-2
o Tuesday, May 19th, 9-11AM
• Kindergarten: children who are already enrolled in the Brooke County PreK program do not need to re-enroll for kindergarten. PreK students’ information and records will be forwarded to the appropriate primary schools. All new students who will be 5 years old by June 30, 2025, will enroll in kindergarten.
• Kindergarten registration will open on February 10th, 2026, at Hooverson Heights Primary School and Wellsburg Primary School. Parents of incoming kindergarten students must first call their home school to schedule a registration appointment. Parents must enroll their children at the primary school located within their residential attendance area. School office hours for registration are 8:00am-3:00pm.
To complete registration, parents must provide the child’s (1) state-issued birth certificate, (2) updated immunization records, and (3) Social Security card. Your child will also need a Health Assessment completed by a physician and an Oral Health Assessment completed by a dentist by the first day of school. These forms will be included in the registration packets. Other forms may be required, specific to each school.

Schedule reminder! Friday, December 19th will be a 2-HR Early Dismissal due to faculty senate. The Holiday break will begin with this dismissal and we will see everyone back on January 6th for our first day of school in the new year!

The Brooke County Schools board meeting for this evening will go on as scheduled. The student recognitions scheduled for tonight are postponed until the January 12, 2026 board meeting.
