As part of their National Junior Honor Society project, 7th graders Aubree Everson and Isaac Michael volunteered their time at the Brooke County Animal Shelter. Both days they were able to play with a few of the dogs. They spilt up washing the bowls and buckets for the dogs, Aubree swept, and Isaac mopped the floors, and they both were able to play and interact with the cats.

As part of their National Junior Honor Society project, 8th graders Scarlett Scott, Preslee Ewusiak, and Chloe Black hosted a free volleyball camp for 5th through 7th grade students. They had a great turn out! The girls worked on serving, setting, and bumping. They learned some of the rules of the games and scrimmaged against each out! It was a great way to get students who are interested in playing on the BMS volleyball team extra practice! Great job, girls!

As part of her National Junior Honor Society project, 8th grader Ellie Ashmore collected hygiene items for the Table of Hope located in Weirton, West Virginia. The Table of Hope is a hot meal site serving hot meals every Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 6 PM. The hot meal site is open to anybody in the community. The hygiene items collected by Ellie will be provided each week for free for patrons to choose from. Some items will be saved for the Christmas party in December. Ellie collected over 1000 items via drop off to The Table or at Sweet Temptations pastry shop over the last four weeks. Great job, Ellie! What an amazing donation!

Mr. Inman and Ms. Regina's classes were able to observe the entire butterfly lifecycle in their classroom. They got to watch live caterpillars grow and then released them as adult butterflies. It was a beautiful activity for everyone!

As part of their National Junior Honor Society project, Raylee Gaston and Ella Gagich collected generous donations from the community and assembled goodie bags for EMS in Brooke County.
Each bag included snacks like donuts, granola bars, crackers, chips, Slim Jims, Combos, and more—along with handwritten words of encouragement to show appreciation for all they do.
In addition to the bags, they donated extra items such as water, Gatorade, energy drinks, K-pods, and Starbucks drinks. They also created handmade keychains to add a personal touch.
The girls even had the opportunity to visit the new EMS building and spend time socializing with some of the EMS team.
Way to go, Raylee and Ella, for making Brooke Middle proud and showing what it means to give back to your community!
