Join us for a fun get together before our football players take on the St. Clairsville Red Devils Thursday, September 24th. We will have performances by our BMS band and cheerleaders, music, and free food! The fun starts at 4:30 in the parking lot between the middle school and stadium! We hope to see you there!

Staying on top of your child's attendance just got a lot easier.
Starting on September 2, 2026, Brooke Middle will be using a new text-based system to keep you informed when your child is absent — and to make it simple for you to respond, ask questions, and share notes, all without a phone call.

Here's what's new:
• You'll receive a text when your child is absent. A message will come from 304-937-1019 — save this number in your contacts so you never miss it.

• You can text back directly. Reply to confirm an absence, share the reason, or ask a question. It's that simple.

• You can send photos of notes by text. Need to submit a parent note or a doctor's note? Just take a photo and text it to the same number — no need to drop anything off at the office.

• You can proactively text us. Know that your child will be absent? Send us a text to 304-937-1019 and we’ll update the record accordingly.

The texts are powered by our AI attendance assistant, and every response goes directly to our attendance team and your child's record is updated accordingly.

The City of Weirton Youth Council (WYC) is looking for new members! Students must reside in the City of Weirton and be able to attend scheduled meetings.

To read more about the program, see attached information.

The WYC is composed of students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades including students attending public, private, and home school. Regular WYC meetings are held twice monthly on the first and third Monday. Additional meetings, activities, community service projects, and volunteer opportunities may be scheduled throughout the program year. Meeting dates and times are subject to change.

During their term, WYC members will learn how municipal government operates, gain firsthand insight into the roles and responsibilities of City departments, and develop an understanding of how they can serve as a voice for their peers and other young people in the community. Members will have opportunities to share youth perspectives, concerns, and ideas directly with the Mayor and City Council, helping ensure that the voices of Weirton’s youth are considered as decisions are made for the future of our community.

Information for Student's First Day of School

Don't forget Brooke Middle will be open during the Back to School Bash tomorrow from 5:00-7:00. Stop in to receive your child's schedule, supply lists, and tour the middle school in addition to some other great things!

***BMS Football players*** Tomorrow, August 10th, is the first day of practice. Players need to report to the main entrance area. Report time: 7:30 am. (Bring spikes and water) Practice: 8:00 am-10:00 am on 8/10, 8/11, 8/12, 8/13. Times for 8/14 and 8/15 will be announced. Physicals are required. If you haven't already turned them into Coach Sizemore or Coach Findling, you will need to bring them tomorrow morning.
